WHAT SIZE DO I NEED + HOW DOES IT WORK?
For small/medium size LEGO® sets, choose standard size Surfaces (they're the square ones).
Choose XL size Surfaces for large LEGO® sets or to create expansive scenes using multiple small/medium sets. XL Surfaces give you 12 extra inches.
Your photo studio starts with connecting any two Surfaces to create a background/base effect. There are two ways to do this:
REPLICA STANDS
These come free when you order any two Surfaces. A complete L-shape setup comes together in under 15 seconds.

THE REPLICA STUDIO
The Studio holds all of our Surfaces and light-control tools. It's height adjustable and rolls to find the best natural light, even if it’s somewhere awkward like the bathroom. Imagine a LEGO® set instead of french toast.

As your skills develop, add tools that control light and create professional-level effects.
The Diffuser is one of those tools (sold separately). Place it between your light and scene to soften the light. Remember to picture a LEGO® set here.
If you want to brighten or darken the far side of your scene, add the Replica Light Modifier (sold separately). It's double-sided with a white side and black side.
The white side bounces light to act like a second light source. The black side darkens your scene and deepens shadows.
